𖥔 Snapshots

A whirlwind of a week, thoughts and talks and writings and design practice, all begging to be knitted together and form my phd thesis. But first, a little change of scenery: Friday night found me in Athens, and I'll be staying until Tuesday. The city is quieter and slower, and I feel more at ease with this pace. I am sure that when I return to Syros the rythm of Ermoupolis will be much faster and hasty than here. The sun spills over blossoming sidewalks, the buses on a Sunday are almost empty, the people walk a bit slower, chatting with each other about a crush or disagreeing about a movie's quality.

Highlighting this weekend, without a doubt, was a workshop I randomly applied to one night through Instagram (it isn't all bad I guess) at a welcoming art space in Ilisia. We drew, we laughed, we glued haphhazardly cut papers together to form Lazarines and danced their traditional dance, and attempted to sing their songs as well.

This little movie has broken/sweetened my heart! Finished Common Side Effects by the middle of the week. Finishing this book, which I am thoroughly hating. All this transportation by bus and boat and metro between places really helps with reading. Next in line is Ocalan's Liberating life: woman's revolution. Casual reads, as usual.

𖥔 Soundscapes

Mellow when its needed, upbeat when necessary. Not included but essential, Ambient Japan on Athens' public transport. Does wonders for your mood, trust me.
